Project Assistant

The Project Assistant will support several USAID and State Department international projects dedicated to economic growth, good governance, anti-corruption, and civil society strengthening. The Project Assistant will support project managers with logistical and administrative support, event planning, and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support QED’s full project portfolio and new business efforts, as assigned.
  • Create, maintain, and update QED project management systems, project folders, and consultant and assignment files.
  • Provide administrative support to QED field offices and staff.
  • Support new business and proposal preparation activities.
  • Other administrative support as required.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support throughout a consultant’s assignment including recruitment, pre-assignment logistics, in-country support, and post-assignment activities (review invoices, obtain travel advances, assist consultants in filling out paperwork, etc.) .
  • Drafts consulting agreements and country clearance cable requests.
  • Assists with securing travel arrangements, Medex insurance, and visas for traveling consultants.
  • Coordinate and support QED and client events and meetings including meeting logistics, note taking, and preparation of agendas, meeting notes, and other materials.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Previous administrative experience, preferably with a USAID-funded project.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organized, attentive to detail, skilled in setting priorities and meeting deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Works well independently and in teams; pro-active in anticipating work requirements and problem solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Interest and/or familiarity with international development preferred including economic growth, democracy & governance, monitoring and evaluation, or knowledge management.
