The Australian embassy in Bangkok is inviting individuals and organizations engaged in development activities on a nonprofit basis in Thailand to submit project proposals for funding under its Direct Aid Program.
The program offers flexible, small grants — typically ranging from 100,000 Thai baht ($2,327) to 800,000 Thai baht — for development projects that involve beneficiaries in identifying, designing and managing projects.
Priority areas for this year’s grant round include sustainable development with a focus on public health improvement, support for education, gender equality and women’s empowerment, poverty reduction focusing on the elderly, youth and migrant workers, and disaster prevention and recovery.
The first funding round will close Nov. 14, 2011.
