The Central Statistical Agency (CSA) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Protection of Basic Services, Component D, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for training services. The training is expected to build the capacity of the CSA in managing data quality assessment and management issues to better administer the National Statistical System and assist the NSS to be a reliable source of an official statistics.
The training service (“the Services”) include measuring data quality, conducting qualitative survey, sample size determination, analysis, interpretation and report writing of system assessment, coordination of the National Statistical System and conducting statistical training need assessment. The training is expected to be given in April, 2012.
The Central Statistical Agency now invites eligible consulting/Training firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short listing criteria are international experience in providing training on data quality, qualitative surveys, system assessment, training need assessment and coordination of NSS.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants By World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, Revised October 1, 2006 & May 1, 2010 (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub consultancy to enhance their qualifications.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the QCBS method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. Expression of interest must be delivered to the address below on or before 29 February 2012 at 4:00pm.
